COMPANY BEAUTY FORUM EVENT

Last night I attended the Company Beauty Forum, hosted by Company Magazine. I decided since I finally live in London to take full advantage of the events for bloggers around the city! This is my first ever blogger and beauty event so was a great starter! I met up with Sophie from Sophie Said and Thalia from fashiongalaxiesox who were really lovely to let me join them and was great to meet some more bloggers!

As you entered you received champagne on the door and then in the hall was a small selection of brands and demos. Bourjois were doing makeovers and manicures, I had my nails done and to ensure I had time to look at other items I only had a colour painted with the most beautiful greens! Thank you to Sophie too who took this photo for me!

There was also Lee Stafford doing hair styling, a lashes company that I didn't get time to check out and HD brows being done by iBrowsetc. I really wanted my brows done so I made sure to get a ticket and luckily got my brows done just in time before the Q&A talk. I will be blogging about HD brows soon so will talk about the pencil and results then but I am so pleased with them. I had them threaded and then trimmed (which was a scary thought to begin) and then penciled in and they FINALLY have the arch I've been trying so hard to achieve! I really like the outcome and pencil is really easy to use, so is something I can use without looking like I have caterpillar brows, my absolute pet hate!

I then went to sit down with Sophie and Thalia and listened to the Q&A from a huge panel! Fleur from Fleurdeforce , Lilly from Lilypebbles , members of the Company team, Lisa Potter Dixon from Benefit, Lee Stafford, Rachael Houghton from Bourjois, Nathalie Eleni!

A lot of questions were covered, and a lot of topics that are more often or not answered in #bbloggers chats were covered but I decided to task a question.

I asked "A lot of people can take the idea of freebies as always going to be a good and positive review, how do you avoid that misconception, especially with sponsored posts? "

Fleur responded that theres a trust within your audience and readers and if you break it you lose a lot just over a review, theres almost an unwritten code that its just not going to help yourself in the long term to go about that mentality. She had previously answered a question with if the mentality is to blog for the freebies then you're already in the wrong as its not what blogging is about.  With sponsored posts too, its about choosing brands you already like and trust so you're not obliged to say you like it because you already do like the brand.

I really enjoyed the talk aswell as talking with brand pr after and a great way to network! I didn't know if many bloggers were there but it was open to beauty therapists and makeup artists too so was a wide range! A great way to start Media Planning  and expanding your blog platforms! We left with a goodie bag of course and had a great selection of items within it!

I'm looking forward to attending more events in the near future too!

BATISTE ORIENTAL DRY SHAMPOO

Batiste are back with yet another great scent and a gorgeous can. The Batiste Oritenal is the newest edition with inspiration from autumnal and winter catwalk style influenced by the East that have been heavily added to designs everywhere this season.

The scent this season is an infusion of Apple, Wild Berry and Grape, Jasmine and Iris with Coconut and Sandalwood with more base notes too. A real mix of scents to create a light fragrant spray for the hair. The fragrance is what gives your choosing to a Batiste choice, this time its a uplighting lighter fragrance and perfect for everyday use or not to be too overpowering.

How to use: Shake the can vigorously, then, keeping the nozzle about 30cm from your hair, spray into roots, lifting sections for maximum coverage. Massage through with fingertips and then brush and style.

Batiste can be bought from Superdrug, Boots and many superstores for £2.99.

UNI HAUL

I had come to the conclusion as much as it was extremely helpful for my mum to pack generally everything for my uni move, I was missing some luxuries and bits and pieces. So over the last week I've been gaining some goodies to add up and make it more homely.

At the weekend I went to a London Shopping Centre and ventured through all the shops that are now on my door step.

Slippers are a must in halls, this is something I've come to realise within the first days, as I still had money on my voucher I decided to get myself some really damm comfy ones. Slippers are a must because your room is yours, however the hall ways and lobby and running to other rooms and what not is not always as easy and as accessible in your socks or it gets annoying chucking on shoes so it was nice to treat myself to better comfy slippers! Yes, I'm fully fledging winter clothing event though London and my halls are like the sauna's of the UK.

Three of my most important purchases were hand cream, nail polish remover and shower caps. Hand cream because I have been stressing about everything recently so I pick at my nails and its been ruining them so have picked up a small Hand Food by Soap and Glory. The best hand cream by far and perfect for a handbag and only £2.50 so super great for travelling and what not! Nail polish remover was a must, I simply couldn't resist bringing all my polishes to uni so need to update my nails often! And shower caps for the days I don't need to wash my hair. Simple necessities.

I also bought this adorable laundry bag that suits my room so well and has the cute kitsch floral print that I love and think accessorise like this are the type of style I want to jazz up my room with since you cannot paint it or adjust pieces. This was from a home wares store in my hometown but I'm sure you can find similar items in home ware/kitchen shops!

To get organised and really on top of deadlines and my game this year I bought myself the best academic diary I've ever witnessed in my opinion, truly a big stationary geek but this is exactly what I was looking for and has all these random extras like how to wash clothes, recipes, Chinese calendar, timetables, reading list, tutor tips and each week comes with a study tip. This was £8 from Waterstones but also on amazon for £6.66 [LINK]

And lastly for now my new bag which I love! My everyday bag was slowly dying and needed replacing after a long time! So here's my new everyday bag that fits my macbook as well as all my bits and pieces! This was £19.99 and a real bargain in my opinion!
Ive still got some bits to get and really get organised but really enjoying buying all these weird new bits for my room, and for a lover of new stationary and getting organised its been fun! I'll soon regret those words soon though!

It was also good to see family and friends recently, feeling homesick was hard but so appreciative of my friends and those who count, those who may even read this blog post that I'm so thankful for their support and love. Who'd of thought I'd be homesick after wanting to get away for so long!
