Foundation is one makeup item I will be prepared to spend on. I have tried too many 'drugstore' foundations that end up being more of a waste of money than anything. Colour matching is near impossible and the quality just never seems to live up to high end, and even when I'm convinced it does, I try a high end foundation and realise I was living a lie!

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation

I recently blogged about the 'How To Look Your Best At Everything' set by Benefit Cosmetics and mentioned how I loved the Hello Flawless Foundation included in a sample size in the set. You can see my review on that set here [LINK]. At first I was undecided whether to buy this, but after pay day and feeling like I needed a treat, and of course my current MAC Studio Fix was running low, I decided to stock up.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation
This is the most I've spent on foundation at a steep £25.50. Normally £20 is my limit but after knowing how much I trust and love Benefit, I knew I was making a good choice. The benefit assistant matched me to the lightest bar one shade which was considerably different from the shade that came in the set however it was a much better match for my skin-tone and isn't too pasty either. I'm in the shade 'believe in me Ivory'.

This foundation is a dream to work with, its oil free, has SPF 25, so perfect for all year skin protectant. The coverage is medium but definitely buildable and gives a flawless look to the face. Theres also all the science-y facts like having a complex which boosts cell renewal and prevents signs of ageing, natural finis and other goodness. But to me, its the best way to get a perfect base. I love using this and bo-ing concealer to create a full coverage base. They work super well in creating that 'benefit' look.

I use a variation of brushes to apply this, sometimes my sigma flat top kabuki, so trusted which probably could do with a replacement soon. I also love using a foundation brush to apply a lighter coverage too.

The foundation is a dream to use and work with and suits my skin really well. If you're looking for a non drying and long lasting foundation then Hello Flawless is your girl!

You can buy Hello Flawless Liquid Foundation from Boots, Debenhams, Feel Unique and many other department stores.

My relationship with lip products can be so love/hate. One day I'll love a lipstick but then I'll wear it the next day and prefer the lipgloss. However, Rimmel made me the perfect compromise, their Apocalips Lip Lacquers. I've always been a fan of the Collection 2000 Creme Puff's which although aren't as glossy, I like the lacquer long lasting effect that is slightly creamy and lipstick like.  When I did a feel unique haul after hearing SO much hype on these, I thought I'd use up a voucher and try it. I can firmly say I was easily persuaded by how good they are!

I did think it was one of them products, every blogger received from Rimmel therefore reviewed but I am quite convinced of the big coverage they had. I have Nova and Celestial as of the moment.

There are currently 13 shades in the range with purples, pinks, reds, corals and nudes! So far I've gone for more bold lip colours than nudes as I have a lot of basic pinks and with bold thicker lip products I like the bolder colour.

The lacquer is a thick gloss but not sticky, no horrible glitters or shimmers, and applies easily with the doe foot applicator.

The first colour I owned in the range was Nova, a bold deep pink, a dark bubblegum to be precise. This really suits my skin tone, its a very complimentary colour and doesn't have a sheen which I really like! This colour really suits basic eye makeup such as a shimmery champagne and brown, dark eyeliner then slick of this on the lips. A gorgeous colour!

The newest one to own is Celestial, this is more of a brown toned pink, which is something I havent owned in a long time. I used to hate brown toned lip colours on me but this is a great Winter colour, its deeper but still has the pink undertones which make it flattering especially for me.

These smell really nice too, a quite unique lip product smell, not typical vanilla but a quite fruity and warm scent which is quite impressive.

The packaging is sleek too, I love these as a lip product to have in the handbag, they look expensive when they are actually only £5.99 which is a complete steal! I'd like to keep adding to my collection over the next few months with most of the colours, I feel these are a great compromise for a fussy lip product wearer like myself! You can get these from boots, superdrug and!

Living in a place with my own bathroom sounds a luxury to some and an essential to others. This is the first year I've had the luxury of having my bathroom (a ensuite in a halls room...) how I like. I can choose every product I put it in, not that I didn't buy what I wanted at home, but theres not a sight of imperial leather soap sitting on the ledge or dads shaving foam.

After my first pay day for my first job in London, which although only a christmas temp position I knew with my pay cheque I was going to splash out on myself. Besides the usual clothes and makeup, I decided to buy some real treats for the shower. I have been using whichever shower gel that smelt nice in the supermarkets so far. I didnt even own an exfoliator or body lotion either, it was very sad indeed. So decided to pay Boots a visit and stock on some 3 for 2!

I hadn't used an exfoliator since I moved to London, which although sounds odd, I definitely missed them. Especially Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush Body Scrub, this gorgeous sugary sweet scrub is the most grittiest scrub I've ever used. I've owned this exfoliator before and knew I didn't want the scrub of your life or breakfast scrub as have little samples of them already. Sugar Crush is full of sugar, limes, almond oil and lots of goodness. The grains are harsh so probably not for those of sensitive skins but really does the job. It works great on those little pimples you can get on forearms and is great for legs to smooth them and make them look fabulous.  The scrub is £8 from Boots [LINK].

To compliment the scrub I needed a body butter of course, I previously tried a Champney's Distant Shore body polish, I wasn't a fan of that as much as the Soap and Glory however, loved the smell. So I decided to buy me some Body Butter to gain some moisture back in my skin. This smells AMAZING. Its very perfumed and a very indulgent smell, you can easily smell the passion fruit and mango which I really like and it doesn't smell false or a fake fruity smell.  Using this after a sugary scrub makes me smell super sweet and is a create compliment to the scrub. The body butter is pretty decent at moisturising too and makes skin soft and sweet. It sinks into the skin quickly which is great for mornings or evening out if you want the scent to last but not be waiting to be clothed! This is £10 from Boots [LINK]

And whats a shower without shower gel hey! I fancied trying something really new, instead of Clean on Me from Soap and Glory, which although I love and have a travel sized of, I've used it many times before and wanted to try a new one. I chose Foam Call which is a bath and shower wash and smells gorgeous. Its more masculine and musky in scent that other soap and glory products. It has notes of yazu, orange oil, green fig and many other essences I've not heard of before but all great for a bit of a treat to the senses. It really foams up well and you only need a little. I love that it comes with a pump and is a huge 500ml bottle too for only £6.50 from Boots [LINK] . I'm really impressed with this shower gel!

Lastly, as not just a shower treat really but to constantly be showered in great smells is Original Source's Vanilla and Raspberry Hand Wash. I love a good hand wash, sounds crazy but I love that feeling of using nice products you get when you go to hotels and restaurants so wanted to replicate that. For only a small £1 when it was on offer and I'm pretty sure I've seen this in poundland too, its a nice little touch to the bathroom, and when I have people over, I like to give them a nice treat too. I have a irrational hate towards soap, well, good soap is amazing, basic cheap soaps dry my hands out and make them feel really cringy and horrible. *shudder*  So these are really moisturising and do the job!
