With winter comes great responsibilities... that being choosing the right lip colour! This year I've really enjoyed darker lips but not a harsh or bright red. I've started to notice how complimentary a berry lip really can be, which I didn't think was possible as a pale blonde! I've found a few combinations that really work but this is one that is perfect for a long lasting look!

I've gone a bit crazy this Christmas stocking up on decorations but I only owned a small tree and a handful of decorations so I felt now I had a bit more money and was able to in our home, I've upgraded. I took a little trip to Sainsbury's and M&S to stock up on the Christmas goodies. I will be posting up about my tree after Wednesday when we'll be home for Christmas.

Christmas hauls are the best kind of hauls, the best way to get a pretty flat lay too! Me and Dan are going all out this year and I've been hauling up ready to head home and decorate our house back in Suffolk. Last weekend we really made ourselves appear 80 years older than we are by visiting the Garden Center. We visited the Aylett Nursery on the North Orbital outside St Albans. I also knew I needed tinsel and Wilkinsons had just the ticket!

This year it's officially Christmas in The Beauty Type household! Dan and I have invested in our first tree as a couple and we've bought new decor to really build a collection we can have for years to come. This year my theme is with coppers, gold, the odd silver and lots of glitter! Whilst building the collection I knew the supermarkets we're the place to hit. You can't go wrong with a Sainsbury's shop and they're normally the best priced too! I found this gorgeous copper 50 piece kit and had to share it with all my blogger friends alike because I know it will be a hit for many!

Loose skin can be caused by a couple of things. Sometimes you have loose skin after weight loss. And sometimes it's ageing that can cause a loss of elasticity. I might be young yet, but I know I'm not going to stay that way forever! Many women, as well as men, look for ways to keep their skin firm and tight. While some opt for surgery, others would prefer to find something less invasive. If you want to maintain a youthful glow and plump skin, you have a few options to try. You can consider having a facelift, but there are also non-surgical choices you might want to try. Have a look at these options to decide which one is right for you.

On Friday university for this term was over, and boy was I glad. I have had the most stressful month of my life to date and I needed it to be over. I also knew I needed to celebrate that I made it! I decided to finally get me and my boyfriend tickets to the London Sky Garden in Fenchurch Street / The City. The building known as the 'walkie-talkie' holds a garden/bar/viewing terrace/ restaurant and more all in the sky.

As you may have seen this year I released my new project, LP Planners. I created a new planner and organiser as I felt it was missing in the UK market. I have had an amazing response for these planners, I've sold so many more than I expected. I have a new planner for sale now, although there is only one design for the moment, more will come in the next few weeks. To find out more about the 2016 planner read on!

Diet coke is one of my favourite drinks, I'm pretty much addicted to coke drinks and hearing that they've teamed up with Tickled Pink, a charity that supports the breast cancer campaign and breast cancer care really excites me.  The 17-year-old charity has raised a staggering £40 million for breast cancer care and campaigns over the time it's been fundraising and this campaign is no different on their fight against the horrible disease.

Autumn is my favourite season of the year and I really enjoy the layering up and autumn fashion that comes into the stores.  Not only does autumn mean wrapping up warm in layers but its the time of year to bring out the boots! I practically live in boots most of the year and I own a silly amount of shoes. These Barbour Barlett* boots are new to my collection and they're perfect for any outdoorsy girls!

There are some trends that just seem to be impossible to obtain - strobing, 'on fleek' brows, contouring like a Kardashian just to name a few. I am not a makeup artist and I recently tried to just do my makeup as effortlessly as I could. Sometimes trying to achieve a look step by step is harder due to the fact my skin type, techniques, brushes and often my products just do not compare. However we're not at a loss, there are some products I instantly turn to for fool-proof looks that just work everytime!

University is supposed to be one of the best times of your life, and although it's been a lot of fun, it's also been an eventful time and there are moments where I can't wait for it to be over! I know a lot of people LOVE university but I am just done with it all now and I think it's because I expected a lot more from it.

So I want to be honest and not glamorise it - obviously this is my perspective I know some people will disagree!

Recently I've been trying some new looks with my makeup and although some things differ, there are some products that stay consistently as they're the best of my collection. This week I've been reaching for some specific products that really are hitting the spot with my current looks.

I will always love Benefit products and the more products and services I try from them, the more I fall in love with them. I recently discovered their brow services and products, most importantly their Gimmie Brow.
It’s a very well known product and it’s no surprise its one of their best sellers too. Its quite an amazing product in that it just transforms your brows without much effort. The teeny brush coats your brow hairs with fibres, which transform into definition and filler to your eyebrows.  I am hopeless at filling in my brows, I am a very fair-haired blonde but my eyebrows are a very dark blonde, unfortunately I’ve not got the knack of filling them in without looking like I’ve been attacked by the scary brow society so this was a dream.

Date night for us can involve anything from a fancy steak night to burgers or even just a glass of wine, but it's one night I like to dress up and look my best! I have some handy hacks and products that are the effortless way to quickly look glammed up and ready to impress!

Natural and holistic products are quickly becoming some of my favourites in my skincare stash, I think using beautifully crafted products rather than mass produced items really benefit the skin.

The brand Maple Holistics recently asked if I would like to try some of their products and I just couldn't resist as I'm always looking for new natural, holistic or organic products. I've a range to show you over the next few posts but today I thought I'd talk about the Vitamin C facial serum.

This month I've wanted to try so many products and new looks. I've really been getting back into my collection and experimenting but I found there were some products that I just returned back to quite easily! Although this isn't an monthly favourites, these are the products I would without a doubt return to!

This summer has literally flown by and I can't believe I've had six months off! However, the joyous time of the year has rolled back around again and for the last time for me, and it's time to start the third year of university.

I've not been the best blogger in the last few weeks, sometimes I have huge blogging months like July where I blogged every other day. Then August isn't as busy. I end up beating myself up on it and yet opportunities come in and then I feel like I'm just taking the goods and not performing.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus is one of those products I randomly bought on a whim – admittedly in the wrong colour (usual for me) and not on any review recommendations. I always rely on blogs and youtube before I buy any makeup product so I was quite surprised when I got home to this powder and wondered why I bought it.

I am a massive stationary geek. I once got asked in Ryman if I was genuinely ok because I spent half an hour choosing ONE pen. I have to buy the perfect pen for the right occasion, every note-book has its own pen and I have specific ranges for certain things. Now, I know I can't be the only weirdo about pens and stationary. So I thought since its nearly back to school (okay... for us adults it's actually the perfect time to get pens and notebooks on sale and discounted) I thought this would be the ideal time to show my favourite pens and stationary.

Essence is found in Wilkinson stores and I was actually mind-blown how big the toilietry and makeup section is in my local store. It had extra brands you rarely see elsewhere which was a real addition. I recently started to get into doing my brows more, I don't exactly fill them in but I like to set and define them. After using Benefit's Gimmie Brow I wanted to see if I could get something that would be similar or a bit cheaper! I'd heard about Essence and wanted to give their Make Me Brow gel mascara a go!

Yesterday I posted about my new project to open a shop for my planners that I have designed and made myself. You can refer to my post here [LINK] for all the information on what I have done and essentially why I did it! I was just after some feedback yesterday but already being asked for orders and so many lovely blogger friends saying it was a great idea, I just had to bite the bullet and open up!

I have made an Etsy shop with the Rainbow design planner ready for purchase! The planner is 210 x 210mm so essentially a square shape with flat lay wire binding so you can have it across your desk and see each week on two pages! You have sufficient space for your morning, day and evening appointments or decorate with stickers and washi tape to create a scrapbook-style memory book!

I feel like this is something the current planner market just doesn't supply, the US have plenty of these style books so I've created an affordable and easy to work with book that is available for all!

The planner costs £20 (plus p&p) and can be purchased here! [LINK]

I love stationary, I love planners too. However, I was getting bored of the UK planner market because it wasn't fulfilling my needs. I loved the Erin Condren and Plum Paper designs planners because they were a scrapbook/journal and diary in one, however they cost over the earth to buy with shipping from the US. So I decided to use the design skills I have and make my own and create LP Planners.

A while ago now I had a lovely email asking me if I wanted to spend the day with Travel Supermarket the holiday and travel comparison website to try my hand at the art of towel origami. Now at first I was thinking - this is the oddest event ever but actually thought it would be the most fun! And it was! Me and my boyfriend Dan headed down to the Raddison Blu Bloomsbury London for the day and joined the team and a bunch of other bloggers to try it all out and enjoy a steak and lobster dinner at the end of it!

This summer has made me want to travel more than ever - after a holiday with me spending half of it ill and in a foreign hospital I was keen to see a bit more of the UK! Brighton admittedly was one of them places that every youtuber seems to be relocating too and seems like the new London but I wanted to give it a chance. And... I see the attraction, it's not like a Suffolk sea-side that's for sure!

My recent post about becoming more body confident talked about both loving your body and transforming it. Some women learn to love their body as it is, but still want to make some changes to get it how they want it to be. I have been thinking about the ways that a lot of women want to change their body. And one of the things that come up a lot is scars. Everyone has scars for different reasons, and everyone thinks about them differently. Some people see them as battle wounds and marks of life that they wear proudly. But others would prefer to try and fade them. If you have scars that you don't like looking at, there are a few methods you can use to help them go away.

Botanicals create beautiful organic products for all purposes, and today their Calming Body Lotion is the one lotion that I've found happiness with! If you suffer from dry, sensitive skin then this light lavender and tea tree lotion naturally soothes any issues no matter what skin type you have.

Rimmel London is one of the first brands I started using as a teen and using makeup - blue eyeshadow to be precise. I admit I love blue eyeshadow and I love their lipsticks even more!

Cohorted beauty boxes are the shiny black boxes of goodness that have been showcasing some of the biggest brands and in my opinion - how a beauty box should be. I get bored of all these brands telling us you'll get huge high-end brands and you get it once in a year and the rest of the time its just repeated brands. Cohorted have got it spot on and here's the first box and a sneak peak of what August has to offer!

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about body confidence and how it affects us girlies. Believe it or not, even the most confident of women - aka, Beyonce, have their body hang-ups. Today, we are living in an age where it’s seen as being normal to dislike how we look, but that shouldn’t be the case.

Although I am happy with my appearance now, I can remember when I was younger that I struggled with my body confidence. We all have our own issues with our bodies - things that we like and dislike about ourselves, and it can be all too easy to get hung up on them.

Whether you're a jetsetter or prefer miniature items especially when it comes to beauty and makeup then there's a bargain to be had. I'm sure everyone and their mothers have seen the Travelo style atomizers which are super handy for travelling to take a small bottle of your favourite scent away with you in your handbag and fitting restrictions without the risk of leaks and breakages.

I got mine for £1.05 and actually bought two so I could take two scents to travel with or have them in different places.

You just pour your perfume/body spray into the bottle, screw back up tightly and use as a normal perfume spray bottle which fits neatly into any bag or cosmetic purse. These aren't as good as the normal travelos which can take any perfume but they are great for body sprays/face mists/toners/lotion sprays and turning anything into a mini!

They come in various colours but I chose pink as it seems like the likely choice for a girlie girl like me!

You can buy yours from here [LINK] and has free delivery - bare in mind that as it is from China it could take around 2-4 weeks but mine arrived in 2 weeks so I was quite happy with the service.

Student living is a toughie, budgeting is even tougher when your student loan barely covers your accommodation. Some people find commuting from home or further afield can be the cheaper alternative by saving money accommodation wise and with travel. I study in London but am actually from Suffolk. I have one more year of university left but need to commute again as I did last year. Commuting is actually quite easy for me, but for some can be a daunting and stressful experience. So if you're weighing up your options - heres my tips for being a student commuter!

Having the correct sun lotion for your skin type on your face makes the world of difference - each year we're seeing revolutionary types of sun lotion and some brands typically French brands are getting these fluids down to a T. La Roche Posay are storming the skincare world and as a big fan of their Serozinc and Effaclar Duo I was excited to try their sun lotion for the face.

Post acne-teen years are in full force and my scars bother me more than ever, I felt it was time to step up my skincare routine and get some acids on my face! Eek, I hear you cry - yes I was a little worried too. After reading Caroline Hirons blog, she fully supported exfoliating acids to help fix scarred non radiant skin and seeing Nip and Fab on offer on I found my calling.

Buying makeup is a tricky art - do you buy lots of 'drug store' affordable products or do you save up and have a smaller collection of high-end department store products? My own collection is fairly big compared to most of my friends - most people have a small makeup bag of everyday products that may vary slightly. I currently own a whole box of it and sometimes wonder where it all came from! I do own a fair amount of high-end products and I have five here that I think are well worth spending just that bit more money.

It’s the summertime! I love how good everyone looks at this time of year. Of course, looking good all through the summer does take a modicum of effort plus a few beauty product know-hows. I’ve been busy getting ready for the sum to come out. For all you ladies who have already had a chance to catch some rays, here is my list of beauty must-haves to stay as gorgeous as the weather:

A good few weeks ago I gave my skin a good rest and was only wearing makeup when I went out properly or at the weekends. I was not wearing it for university anymore as I was only in for a couple hours a day and when you're in London and bare faced it doesn't matter whatsoever!

As a student, I have to say having a routine is a tough thing to maintain especially when you're on your holiday breaks. However, I believe after having my Crete holiday it's time to keep a routine in good order and get to work, be it my part time job or working on my blog each day. I feel that if I've got months off - my blog should benefit from it wholly.

Outfit posts and makeup photo of the days have never been my forte but after reading Anna Saccone's blog and youtube - she manages to consistently provide casual outfit posts that are actually achievable. She does hauls every few months and creates numerous outfit posts with the same clothes. I love this idea - I think some fashion bloggers have a new outfit every week that for readers like you and I, this is unrealistic unless you're being handed clothes on a plate or can afford it.

If you want to make the most of your eyes, you have to make sure that you take good care of yourself. Your health and beauty routine has to be top notch if you want to look fantastic. Every few months Poundland brings out a selection of Rimmel, Barry M or nail polish brand products that you have to be quick to catch. Whenever I read a blog post on the selection I take a mental note to go have a look then when I go into my local store on a Saturday I quickly regret my decision. Poundland is the worst place on a Saturday afternoon - clearly bargains are in demand.

A few weeks ago now I went to Crete for a bit of sun, sand and relaxation. We went to the town of Agios Nikolaos which is on the North East of the Island and only about 30 minutes from Malia. The town is no party place like its neighbour but a gorgeous marina town with a handful of beaches, a huge town full of shops, a lake with restaurants and bars and gorgeous scenery for miles.

Whilst I was out in Crete I actually became extremely unwell by the fourth day -  I did get half an amazing holiday but I don't have tons to say as being ill landed me on three days in bed and a day in a disgusting Greek hospital! However, I hope the pictures make up for it!

Get your running shoes on and your old clothes as its time to go colourful with the Run or Dye 5k in Ipswich's Chantry Park. You can win one of two places for the 5k run on July the 25th! These places are hot to get and a great day out.

Who doesn’t want their skin to look smoother? In a world where being young is at the top of every man and woman’s Christmas lists, the anti-aging industry has created some innovative responses (they decided to save Santa the trouble). The coolest part? They use lasers.

Laser treatments have been around for several years now. They are safe and effective ways of
working with the skin on the cellular level. In addition to helping your skin look younger, lasers can
also improve skin conditions such as rosacea, and they can remove or lessen the appearance of stretch
marks, scars, and acne; laser treatments can even remove hair. Because of the varied abilities of lasers, when it comes to getting younger, more youthful looking skin, it is important for you to make an informed choice about which procedures will help you the most in fixing your face.

Get Better Looking Skin in Less Time

If you are very sensitive about your skin’s condition, one of the quickest and most effective

ways to go with laser treatments is to consider Ablative laser treatments. This type of skin treatment

involved a small laser that target all layers of your skin. The laser penetrates the skin at the cellular

level, removing all the dead cells, which can sink into your wrinkles and dramatically increase their

depth. Cosmetic laser treatments go deep into the skin’s dermis; as a result, the skin is transformed

several layers below the immediate surface of the skin, and after only a few treatments, you can see a

huge difference. This style of therapy for your skin saves you time (these procedures take as little as

30 minutes) and money (fewer treatments required) than other types of anti-aging skin procedures.

However, since the benefits are bigger, the drawbacks to this method are bigger. Medical

ablative laser treatments can be more painful than other skin treatments; it is recommended you have

some pain management treatment ready following your appointment. Depending on the condition of

your skin, they can also come with unwanted side effects like bleeding and oozing skin. Following

treatment, your skin can also get infected in the open areas. While there are plenty of ways to avoid

these side effects, and there are treatment options available for post-laser, other factors can come into

play. For example, if your skin is darker, this method does not help as much, since the laser removes

dead cells and stimulates growth underneath the epidermis. The skin cells not exposed to the sun tend

to be more sensitive in darker-skinned individuals, and unprecedented stimulation can irritate the

cells much more. While medical laser treatments have been shown to give quick, thorough, and

effective results, you need to make sure you are an excellent candidate for it at the start.

Get Under Your Skin

Non-ablative laser treatments have no impact on the surface of the skin, since they are focused

more on the lower epidermal layers. Non-ablative procedures will not cause infection in your skin.

None of the potentially harsh side effects of ablative treatments applies with these methods.

Non-ablative treatments are not potent enough to provide long-lasting effects, especially

compared to the ablative methods. The ablative therapies can help to diminish deep crinkles, while

non-ablative treatments can only lessen the appearance of fine lines and surface wrinkles.

A One-Stop Treatment Method

Similar to Ablative laser treatments is CO2 Fractional Laser Therapy. Newer to the anti-aging

skin treatment market, CO2 Fractional Laser Therapy also sends out laser pulses to treat skin

underneath the surface. The laser can reduce age spots, scarring, wrinkles, discoloration or uneven

coloration, and fine lines. CO2 works to remove specific cellular columns of skin, allowing the

surrounding skin to heal and promotes healthier skin growth over the treated areas.

While there are no significant long-term effects, the short-term side effects have their

drawbacks. While it only takes a one-time appointment, CO2 Fractional Laser Therapy can take up to

two weeks to heal. In addition, there is generally more pain with this treatment than the Ablative laser

treatments, just because of how deeply it goes into the skin. In addition to this, the price for this

treatment is typically much more expensive than the Ablative laser treatments, often starting at over

$1200 a session. Once more, it is best to determine if your skin condition is a good fit for this

procedure, and make sure you budget accordingly.

One of the best ways to improve the quality of your skin is on the cellular level with Fractional

photothermolysis; this treatment is also known as the “Fraxel” procedure. When you get the Fractional

photothermolysis therapy, you get a laser to release hundreds of microscopic pulses onto the surface of

your skin. The laser pulsing fuels collagen production. Collagen is the material in your cells that makes

the skin more elastic; as we age, our bodies produce less and less of it. Stimulating collagen production

makes your skin look younger and healthier. Most patients need 2-4 sessions to achieve the best results.

There is a chance for some pain and swelling, but recovery goes quickly. Because of the limited side

effects and the quick recovery, many people recommend Fractional photothermolysis as a way to

make your skin look younger and more attractive.

A Light Treatment

IPL is the abbreviation for Intense Pulsed Light, and it is not technically a form of laser skin

treatment. It does not use lasers at all, but it does use a light source to treat the skin. IPL treats the

redness and skin discoloration associated with rosacea and age spots; it can also help with flushing the

skin, and helping it to keep blood vessels from appearing on the skin’s surface. It can help specifically

with skin rejuvenation. Side effects are nominal, but it does need to scheduled often to keep up the

results; a single treatment has a subtle effect and will not last very long at all. Many people opt for

some form of aesthetic laser procedures as an alternative largely because of the upkeep. Most treatment

plans are for three to six sessions, over a period of six months. IPL is a simple treatment for the skin,

and can help with its overall appearance.

Be Smart and Be Prepared

Radio frequency treatments or chemical peels need not be part of your skin’s future. The main

thing is to you will need to educate yourself on all your options; talk with your healthcare and

dermatological specialist before selecting a course of action, especially if you have questions or are

unsure about some of the procedures. You will want the best for your particular skin’s needs.
