MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus is one of those products I randomly bought on a whim – admittedly in the wrong colour (usual for me) and not on any review recommendations. I always rely on blogs and youtube before I buy any makeup product so I was quite surprised when I got home to this powder and wondered why I bought it.

I use the Studio Fix Fluid foundation as my heavy-duty foundation for bad skin days, big nights out or long lasting makeup but I normally use the Mineralise Skinfinish as my setting powder. I absolutely love skinfinish as it provides a bit more coverage than some drug store setting powders but instead of leaving a matte finish it provides a gorgeous glow to the skin that takes the shine off but leaves a nice natural finish to the skin.

Fix powder is quite different to that though, it is a very HEAVY powder and could cover any blemish. Its even more than a mineral foundation and is technically classed as a foundation, not a setting powder anyway.  I do have the shade too light but I like to use this on top of any darker foundations or on studio fix. It provides a really tough lasting base and is perfect for making sure you do not budge that foundation.

I use a fluffy brush to ensure I don’t use too much if I’m using it to set product or setting a tinted moisturiser because anything too dense would make it too heavy.

I like this product, I don’t love it by any means as I don’t use it everyday and it’s a little too light for me (currently, come December and I’ll be Caspar the ghost I’m sure!)

It retails for £22 which isn't too bad for high-end makeup, you can buy it direct from MAC here. [LINK]
