Student living is a toughie, budgeting is even tougher when your student loan barely covers your accommodation. Some people find commuting from home or further afield can be the cheaper alternative by saving money accommodation wise and with travel. I study in London but am actually from Suffolk. I have one more year of university left but need to commute again as I did last year. Commuting is actually quite easy for me, but for some can be a daunting and stressful experience. So if you're weighing up your options - heres my tips for being a student commuter!

Having the correct sun lotion for your skin type on your face makes the world of difference - each year we're seeing revolutionary types of sun lotion and some brands typically French brands are getting these fluids down to a T. La Roche Posay are storming the skincare world and as a big fan of their Serozinc and Effaclar Duo I was excited to try their sun lotion for the face.

Post acne-teen years are in full force and my scars bother me more than ever, I felt it was time to step up my skincare routine and get some acids on my face! Eek, I hear you cry - yes I was a little worried too. After reading Caroline Hirons blog, she fully supported exfoliating acids to help fix scarred non radiant skin and seeing Nip and Fab on offer on I found my calling.

Buying makeup is a tricky art - do you buy lots of 'drug store' affordable products or do you save up and have a smaller collection of high-end department store products? My own collection is fairly big compared to most of my friends - most people have a small makeup bag of everyday products that may vary slightly. I currently own a whole box of it and sometimes wonder where it all came from! I do own a fair amount of high-end products and I have five here that I think are well worth spending just that bit more money.

It’s the summertime! I love how good everyone looks at this time of year. Of course, looking good all through the summer does take a modicum of effort plus a few beauty product know-hows. I’ve been busy getting ready for the sum to come out. For all you ladies who have already had a chance to catch some rays, here is my list of beauty must-haves to stay as gorgeous as the weather:

A good few weeks ago I gave my skin a good rest and was only wearing makeup when I went out properly or at the weekends. I was not wearing it for university anymore as I was only in for a couple hours a day and when you're in London and bare faced it doesn't matter whatsoever!

As a student, I have to say having a routine is a tough thing to maintain especially when you're on your holiday breaks. However, I believe after having my Crete holiday it's time to keep a routine in good order and get to work, be it my part time job or working on my blog each day. I feel that if I've got months off - my blog should benefit from it wholly.

Outfit posts and makeup photo of the days have never been my forte but after reading Anna Saccone's blog and youtube - she manages to consistently provide casual outfit posts that are actually achievable. She does hauls every few months and creates numerous outfit posts with the same clothes. I love this idea - I think some fashion bloggers have a new outfit every week that for readers like you and I, this is unrealistic unless you're being handed clothes on a plate or can afford it.

If you want to make the most of your eyes, you have to make sure that you take good care of yourself. Your health and beauty routine has to be top notch if you want to look fantastic. They say that your eyes are the window to your soul, and so they'd better look great. Many women wonder what it is that makes their eyes sparkle. Well, there are some natural ways that you can make your eyes look incredible.

Every few months Poundland brings out a selection of Rimmel, Barry M or nail polish brand products that you have to be quick to catch. Whenever I read a blog post on the selection I take a mental note to go have a look then when I go into my local store on a Saturday I quickly regret my decision. Poundland is the worst place on a Saturday afternoon - clearly bargains are in demand.

A few weeks ago now I went to Crete for a bit of sun, sand and relaxation. We went to the town of Agios Nikolaos which is on the North East of the Island and only about 30 minutes from Malia. The town is no party place like its neighbour but a gorgeous marina town with a handful of beaches, a huge town full of shops, a lake with restaurants and bars and gorgeous scenery for miles.

Whilst I was out in Crete I actually became extremely unwell by the fourth day -  I did get half an amazing holiday but I don't have tons to say as being ill landed me on three days in bed and a day in a disgusting Greek hospital! However, I hope the pictures make up for it!

Who doesn’t want their skin to look smoother? In a world where being young is at the top of every man and woman’s Christmas lists, the anti-aging industry has created some innovative responses (they decided to save Santa the trouble). The coolest part? They use lasers.

Laser treatments have been around for several years now. They are safe and effective ways of
working with the skin on the cellular level. In addition to helping your skin look younger, lasers can
also improve skin conditions such as rosacea, and they can remove or lessen the appearance of stretch
marks, scars, and acne; laser treatments can even remove hair. Because of the varied abilities of lasers, when it comes to getting younger, more youthful looking skin, it is important for you to make an informed choice about which procedures will help you the most in fixing your face.

Get Better Looking Skin in Less Time

If you are very sensitive about your skin’s condition, one of the quickest and most effective

ways to go with laser treatments is to consider Ablative laser treatments. This type of skin treatment

involved a small laser that target all layers of your skin. The laser penetrates the skin at the cellular

level, removing all the dead cells, which can sink into your wrinkles and dramatically increase their

depth. Cosmetic laser treatments go deep into the skin’s dermis; as a result, the skin is transformed

several layers below the immediate surface of the skin, and after only a few treatments, you can see a

huge difference. This style of therapy for your skin saves you time (these procedures take as little as

30 minutes) and money (fewer treatments required) than other types of anti-aging skin procedures.

However, since the benefits are bigger, the drawbacks to this method are bigger. Medical

ablative laser treatments can be more painful than other skin treatments; it is recommended you have

some pain management treatment ready following your appointment. Depending on the condition of

your skin, they can also come with unwanted side effects like bleeding and oozing skin. Following

treatment, your skin can also get infected in the open areas. While there are plenty of ways to avoid

these side effects, and there are treatment options available for post-laser, other factors can come into

play. For example, if your skin is darker, this method does not help as much, since the laser removes

dead cells and stimulates growth underneath the epidermis. The skin cells not exposed to the sun tend

to be more sensitive in darker-skinned individuals, and unprecedented stimulation can irritate the

cells much more. While medical laser treatments have been shown to give quick, thorough, and

effective results, you need to make sure you are an excellent candidate for it at the start.

Get Under Your Skin

Non-ablative laser treatments have no impact on the surface of the skin, since they are focused

more on the lower epidermal layers. Non-ablative procedures will not cause infection in your skin.

None of the potentially harsh side effects of ablative treatments applies with these methods.

Non-ablative treatments are not potent enough to provide long-lasting effects, especially

compared to the ablative methods. The ablative therapies can help to diminish deep crinkles, while

non-ablative treatments can only lessen the appearance of fine lines and surface wrinkles.

A One-Stop Treatment Method

Similar to Ablative laser treatments is CO2 Fractional Laser Therapy. Newer to the anti-aging

skin treatment market, CO2 Fractional Laser Therapy also sends out laser pulses to treat skin

underneath the surface. The laser can reduce age spots, scarring, wrinkles, discoloration or uneven

coloration, and fine lines. CO2 works to remove specific cellular columns of skin, allowing the

surrounding skin to heal and promotes healthier skin growth over the treated areas.

While there are no significant long-term effects, the short-term side effects have their

drawbacks. While it only takes a one-time appointment, CO2 Fractional Laser Therapy can take up to

two weeks to heal. In addition, there is generally more pain with this treatment than the Ablative laser

treatments, just because of how deeply it goes into the skin. In addition to this, the price for this

treatment is typically much more expensive than the Ablative laser treatments, often starting at over

$1200 a session. Once more, it is best to determine if your skin condition is a good fit for this

procedure, and make sure you budget accordingly.

One of the best ways to improve the quality of your skin is on the cellular level with Fractional

photothermolysis; this treatment is also known as the “Fraxel” procedure. When you get the Fractional

photothermolysis therapy, you get a laser to release hundreds of microscopic pulses onto the surface of

your skin. The laser pulsing fuels collagen production. Collagen is the material in your cells that makes

the skin more elastic; as we age, our bodies produce less and less of it. Stimulating collagen production

makes your skin look younger and healthier. Most patients need 2-4 sessions to achieve the best results.

There is a chance for some pain and swelling, but recovery goes quickly. Because of the limited side

effects and the quick recovery, many people recommend Fractional photothermolysis as a way to

make your skin look younger and more attractive.

A Light Treatment

IPL is the abbreviation for Intense Pulsed Light, and it is not technically a form of laser skin

treatment. It does not use lasers at all, but it does use a light source to treat the skin. IPL treats the

redness and skin discoloration associated with rosacea and age spots; it can also help with flushing the

skin, and helping it to keep blood vessels from appearing on the skin’s surface. It can help specifically

with skin rejuvenation. Side effects are nominal, but it does need to scheduled often to keep up the

results; a single treatment has a subtle effect and will not last very long at all. Many people opt for

some form of aesthetic laser procedures as an alternative largely because of the upkeep. Most treatment

plans are for three to six sessions, over a period of six months. IPL is a simple treatment for the skin,

and can help with its overall appearance.

Be Smart and Be Prepared

Radio frequency treatments or chemical peels need not be part of your skin’s future. The main

thing is to you will need to educate yourself on all your options; talk with your healthcare and

dermatological specialist before selecting a course of action, especially if you have questions or are

unsure about some of the procedures. You will want the best for your particular skin’s needs.

What a month June has been, I've been in and out of the country, have got over a holiday illness, worked and survived this heatwave! After my holiday to Crete I've been so glad to be using those trusty 'after holiday' products and here they are!

I have become a big shoe-aholic recently. I own way too many pairs of heels and constantly nag my boyfriend to take me out so I can make good use of them! But I have found a new pair that will be taking over this summer. Holees are the new breathable, lightweight and memory foam shoe that makes walking, running or errands a real treat.
