We've all heard of the amazing Quinoa (which I still want to pronounce Quinn-o-ah) but because of the demand and 'superfood' status it has become, it has become extremely expensive compared to some of its friends on the same shelf. Bulgar Wheat, a dried whole wheat cereal grain is one of the best ways to add fibre, protein and iron into your diet but keeping your calorie intake low! Bulgar wheat contains fewer calories, less fat and more than twice the insoluble fibre than brown rice making it the perfect way to bulk up meals and yet great a great tasting meal! Best of all, its cheaper than quinoa.

Sugar is everyone's best and worst friend. It's there for you when you are having a tough day, it makes celebrations worth celebrating and can pick you up on a daily struggle. But I think we all know by now that it's the enemy to our health.

Sugar was ruining my health and causing me to become ill frequently, I was tired all the time and relying on sugar to get me through the day. I was justifying it but it wasn't worth it. I didn't even enjoy it, I just used it to get by. I've learnt to cut down, not get rid of sugar by incorporating a few changes. Once you kick the habit it happens without realising but it's the gradual change that is what can be the hardest part.  I still think sugar should be allowed, I love chocolate, coke and cake but I have cut down the excess and make it more balanced within my diet. It's easier than you think!

I bet a lot of people cringe at the idea of talking about feminine hygiene products on blogs. I know its a bit of an odd subject for me too! However when I was contacted by Veeda, a new feminine brand that create tampons and towels that contain no synthetics, no chemicals and no dyes! The products are 100% cotton and best part, they work just as well!

I know from my own pre-judgements I used to believe natural products would be so poorly designed to save the environment that they wouldn't work. I think we all know how important natural and eco products are and how good they can be!

Veeda tampons are 100% cotton and do not contain any chemicals or dyes and have not been bleached in order to maintain a healthier product! By being so good in terms of their material, they also reduce the risk of toxic shock syndrome which can be a daunting prospect when really us girls just want to make that time of the month as easy as possible! According to a study done by medical experts, there has never been a case of TSS when using cotton products. RESULT!

A lot of the products currently found in Boots do contain plastics, dyes, viscose rayon and other dangerous chemicals and materials that simply don't agree with the delicate area.

These pads and tampons work just as well at avoiding any leaks and keeping you protected, just doing it in a better for the environment and YOU way!

You can buy them from Boots from £1.99 here [LINK]

Veeda was also created by men... I say no more! But I was surprised too! So well done guys!

Breakfast has always been my downfall, I know its important and sets you up for the day yet I've never got on with cereals or museli, toast takes too long in the mornings and some of the breakfast bars you get just never do the trick.  We invested in the Breville Active Blend blender a few weeks ago and I've not looked back since. For anyone who doesn't do breakfasts but could take this with them to work or university, or just wants something that tastes nice for once, this one's for you!

January is the perfect time to kick those bad habits and start embracing a healthier lifestyle. I'm sure we're all guilty of saying we'll go to the gym or eating better, saving more money or working harder but some things are just hard to keep! My 'motivation' this year is to just be that bit healthier. I feel like 2015 brought me a lot of unhealthy times, my kidneys near enough could give up on me if I give them another bad year and I've been run down too many times to count.  I decided in little steps I would just keep myself healthy, one of the ways to do so was to start having a better breakfast in the shape of a smoothie or juice! Hence why my little blender friend here is making an appearance on my blog today!

At 20, I am by no means old and I am pretty happy with my skin. I would like to keep it that way, though. It is important to have a good skincare routine when you’re young as it will stand you in good stead when your skin ages. You don’t want to start a routine when it is too late to make much of a difference.

A girl should always own one makeup product that makes her feel a million dollars. For some people, it's a mascara or eyeshadow, for me it's a lipstick. Most days I won't wear any but when I do, I like to know its the perfect choice for me. Rimmel London Kate Moss lipsticks have become my favourite lipsticks! The quality, colours and finish are amazing and better than high end! This review is of the infamous Kate 107 lipstick which has easily become a winter staple!

Makeup brushes have really developed over the last few years. About three years ago I got two of the huge Sigma sets that contained about 20 brushes each and really expanded my collection. Three years on and some of them aren't looking as good as they could. Whilst some are amazing, I've enjoyed seeing the brush section grow and especially see the inexpensive high-quality offerings from Real Techniques, the brand fronted and designed by Sam and Nic Chapman.

If you are new to my blog, you may not know but I study in London. I go to a university in Islington so I'm in the heart of the city nearly four days a week. I commute in from Hertfordshire but it’s a perfect place to go. I have already done a post on Living in London so you can check that out here [LINK] but studying in London is a whole new ball game. There are so many pros and cons to studying in London and obviously, I've only ever attended this university so I can't comment and say it's better elsewhere. There are many universities in London and a lot of them class themselves as London but not all of them are in the city and that’s where being in the heart of it all changes how studying feels in the city.

Most of my makeup bag is full of Benefit Cosmetics makeup. Although they don't sell loads compared to companies like MAC and Estee Lauder, their products seem really specialized to create a perfect look. Gone are the days where one concealer does a rubbish job, every product from benefit has really been thought out for its purpose and fits trends so perfectly too.

You might remember that a few days ago, I wrote a post about being more organised. Well, writing that post got me thinking about how organised my life is and what areas I need to improve on, and one that came up was my handbag. (Bags just get so messy, so easily.) Let’s be honest about it girls, our handbags are the places where we dump random bits and bobs, from hair pins to spare change. We say we’re going to clear them out and then never do. But if we want to be more organised this year, that has to stop. Of course, the question is, how should we go about it?

There's something so luxurious about owning a good hand wash and knowing when you have visitors they think you've really made it if you've got a fancy hand wash.  In our case, we received two Molton Brown products from my other half's mum in our stockings and I was so happy. Although the hand wash is mine and the shower gel Dan's, lets face it, he'll let me use both! We got the Naran Ji liquid hand wash and the Black Peppercorn body wash.

It's a new year and we all know that means we've all promised ourselves to get more organised and on the ball this year. Be it work, life, money or plans we've all got our goals set on something and with blogging in the equation we can all get geared up and motivated to then feel a complete failure when something halts the buzz.
