Asking your girlfriends or family members to be your bridesmaids is one of those moments that can be so exciting and feel like such a pressure to make it exciting too! When I decided I wanted to ask my cousins to be bridesmaids I wanted to make it as fun for them as it will be for me! This worked so well and was super affordable so here's how to make DIY bridesmaid proposal boxes!
The hampers are quite a simple idea, I wanted something that opened up and revealed it so I bought these straw hampers from Hobbycraft which were £8 each [LINK]. I added the filling which with the white gave it the bridal look. I chose a handful of sweets and goodies from the shop and then added in a candle, exfoliating glove and body lotion just for the 'pampering' idea of the box for the bridesmaids and made it a fresh and inviting box to physically open.
I saw the wooden hearts in Hobbycraft too which were only around a pound each and I added some ribbons. I used a Sharpie to write ' Be my bridesmaid?' on which when you open the box is the first thing you'd see. The girls absolutely loved these boxes and thought the idea was really cute. I also had some large width ribbon which was wrapped around the box twice with a big bow to create a really unique present to hand over!
These boxes can be completely personalised to your bridesmaids, whether you know their favourite chocolates, body creams, etc but the concept is quite novel and really makes the 'proposal' a lot of fun.
My maid of honour was slightly different and I went with a personalised card so I could see her reaction and ask her personally as thats a different job the bridesmaid and has more responsibilities! But that worked equally as well and am really happy with how I proposed to my bridal party!
