MY SKINCARE ROUTINE / COMBINATION SKIN

Its been a long old journey, but my skin is finally behaving itself! I have learnt that the key is investing in good quality products and sticking with them once they work. Its so easy as a blogger to want to try every product possible, to see if the newest trend will work for you but when it comes to skin types, anything can trigger different reactions on every person. I'm a combination skin type of slightly oily (mainly with hormonal blemishes and scaring) and dry skin especially in the winter.

For cleansing every evening to take my makeup off with I use my trusty, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I have been using this everyday for the last FIVE years! I can't believe I've been using it that long, you can see my first review from that long ago here [LINK]. It is the only cleanser that I find keeps my skin soft and blemish free. It's also perfect to really rub all the makeup away and it doesn't hurt or require any effort. You can rub your smokey eyes to panda eyes, you can take thick heavy makeup off and it comes off with a rub and swipe. It's perfect. I try other cleansers now and then, but always come back to this!

I occasionally use Liz Earle Toner to refresh my skin too. Every morning I apply La Roche Posay Pigmentclar Eyes, eye cream which helps to combat my dark eyes and tiredness. You can see my raving review about this here [LINK] it truly is the best eye cream for darkness.

My everyday moisturiser is the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser, I bought this on a whim at Bicester village as it was on a super good price and I'd heard great things. I actually have come to LOVE this moisturiser. It has a super light gel texture but sinks in so nicely and has brightened my skin up really well. The light texture makes it really easy to apply quickly in the morning. This has lasted me a really long time too and I'm definitely going to repurchase when it runs out!

For treatments, I change these up all the time depending on what my skin needs. For exfoliating, I use the Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix Pads every few days to take all the dead skin cells away and refresh the skin. The acid in the pads work really well at exfoliating the skin and keeping it smooth without scrubbing or harsh products.

When my skin is super dry and winter hits, Decleor Aroma Cleanse Herb and Clay mask is my go to! I used to get this applied when I had Decleor Facials in my old job. This smells heavenly and has such a 'spa' like feel to it. It applies as a cream and doesn't really dry hard. You can apply this for a few mins or leave on longer for a more luxurious pamper. This just provides a great cleanse and relaxing treatment for the skin and is full of good natural ingredients!

I'm also trying out Lush's Mask of Magniminty at the moment too and a staple for my beauty cabinet is also the Sanctuary Spa 5 Min Thermal Detox Mask, which is great for when you need to flush your skin of all the grime quickly and effectively!

The one product that saved my skin after I had teenage acne is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. This product is a wonder product I've spoke many times about but likewise to the Detox Mask, I'll always  have a tube in my cabinet. Not only has it taken the scarring away from my skin, its great for when blemishes arise and with a few uses can make spots reduce and also stops that pesky blemish from leaving any marks. I get Dan to use it too when he says he has a blemish come up, it works so well.

So that my rambling done, what are your go-to skincare items?
