Rimmel London has really been impressing me lately and when I saw that the Match Perfection foundation was gaining points from top bloggers on the drugstore front I knew it was worth giving them a try for their foundations. A few years ago, drugstore foundations used to be pretty rubbish and with a bad shade range but Match Perfection has transformed my love for lower priced foundations and I’ve found a new favourite!
The foundation is a lovely liquid that blends into the skin seamlessly. With the pump you can easily use one pump to cover the whole face. This foundation creates a medium coverage but could be higher if you apply a second layer. The coverage may be medium and cover most blemishes and provide a airbrush look but it feels weightless on the skin and for a everyday foundation, it works perfectly.
I wear this most days for work and often weekends too, it never feels heavy to wear on the face and works perfectly with any concealer too. In terms of matching the skin tone, I use the shade 100 ivory and I find this one of the best matches for my skin tone that I’ve tried in a while. For MAC reference, I’m normally an NC20 so this is a light enough colour to match that.
This covers dark circles, blemishes and creates a soft focus effect. I find it does wear at around 6pm after applying at 7am so although it may not last ALL day, it definitely does the job for a day at work. It also contains SPF20 which is always an added bonus for makeup.
The best part of this foundation, not only does it work perfectly on the skin but it is only £7.99 which is much cheaper than my Estee Lauder or Benefit foundations. Although it’s the foundation to use for date night or special occasions, thats why I love it, because its perfect for day to day use whilst saving money too!
