A MINDFULNESS GUIDE FOR THE FRAZZLED BY RUBY WAX

Mindfulness is a topic that everyone needs to get on board with. Ruby Wax is a character I would never have considered as being a leader of mindfulness but this book has completely changed my opinion on her and being mindful. This is a must-read for anyone looking to hear that you are ok, but also its ok to not be sometimes too!

There is often the misconception that if you seek self-help, mindfulness or you act mindful to your life, that you've got mental health issues. I really don't think this is the case, everyone has times of stress or thought where you know there's nothing wrong but you want to reflect on how your path is going. Sometimes its good to think are you on the right track to reach your goals and sometimes taking a step back is the best thing you can do.

I saw this book on BroganTatexo vlog and it sounded like something I would be interested in.  I am a relatively positive person but sometimes I find work, life and my goals can be stressful and I think its important to take a moment to bring positivity back to my life.

Being mindful is a way of understanding your thoughts and gives your brain a chance to breathe in a world that doesn't stop!

Ruby Wax's stance is so relatable, her chatty tone in the book is honest and brutal. She admits when she has slip ups and reflects on her own experiences, the research that has gone into the book proves her knowledge.  She is funny and witty and the way she explains each concept allows you to understand your own versions of thinking.

We all eat a big cake without even thinking to savour it and understand why we wanted that cake. We all make choices based on haste but being able to think allows us to savour happiness in moments we take for granted.

This book isn't a 'how to be the perfect person in a imperfect world' guide that keep coming up and just don't give a real girl justice. Its a way to breathe, find peace and be mindful of how you live, there's no promises but there is science, research and experience to provide insight into how we should all take a minute to stop.

Wax's book literally had me hooked, I really didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did, but I read it SO quickly in only a couple of days and I was gutted when I finished it. However, saying that, I do think it's the type of book you could read again and again to refresh your thoughts and mindset.
