YANTRA ACUPRESSURE MAT

A bed of needles or acupuncture does sound like torture but how about a mat that uses plastic spikes to replicate the effects that you can use in the comfort of your own home? The acupressure mats have become quite a popular option to relieve stress, aches and back pain by gradual use of this spiky mat!

I brought this mat specifically for Dan as he suffers back pain every now and then and the idea is to reduce aches and boost his circulation and blood flow to reduce symptoms/pain. I also started using this to make my posture better and get rid of any aches I had from sitting at a desk all day, especially with bad posture.

The mat comes with over 8000 acupressure contact points over 210 flowers which means you can use this pretty much anywhere and cover all points. We tend to lay on this with most of our back covering the mat but you can use it on your neck (folded) or lower back maybe even your legs!

Many people say that they get so relaxed after using this that they fall asleep. I don't know if I'd ever be able to do that only because the spikes hurt. Once you're on and in position, keep still and then it is actually really relaxing and warming. But movement or repositioning can really hurt, after all it is supposed to be like a needle sensation.

The mat does aid sleep so using this 20 minutes before bed really helps relieve aches and relaxes you before bed. This can be used anywhere, be it a chair, sofa, bed or floor. It is also recommended to either go topless (which I say does get the better effect) or with a very thin t-shirt.

Most crucially I can't confirm if it's the reason why my back has cleared up but after using this for a week my back acne has finally gone. I was really suffering with back acne for a few weeks but then when I used this it has removed a lot of the spots and prevented anymore. Although I can't tell if this is the reason it has gone, the pressure mat allows for better circulation so it will definitely help the complexion regardless.

This isn't for the faint hearted but if you suffer from occasional aches or you have back ache that just won't ever go away properly, this is a great option for sorting those issues. It is also perfect at improving sleep quality and helping you drift off for a peaceful sleep.

The mat's are only £25 on amazon, this one [LINK] isn't exactly like mine but is the same product, different brand.

With a product description of  "the mat is similar to a Bed of Nails that have been used for thousands of years in India. The bed of nails has been used in India for relaxation exercises, meditation and yoga. It works in a similar way to acupuncture, the pressure of the nails may help to release endorphins which is a natural drug that makes you feel good and energised. Endorphins are known to provide a sense of joy, energy and can also help with relieving discomfort. Endorphins also stimulate the release of oxytocin which helps you to feel calm and relaxed" You're sure to find comfort and enjoyment out of using it!
