If you could name one thing I do a lot, it’s probably a date night with Dan. Since day one, Dan and I try to go on a date night at least twice a month (and normally more often depending on the month). I love going out for dinner, a glass of wine or even a date day out and dressing up for the weekend or an evening is so much more fun than when you have to put your face on every day for work!
As a beauty blogger, I’ve always loved brands that make me feel glam when dressing up and feel luxurious to use. Simplybe, the online clothing store now sells cosmetics, haircare and skincare products, which surprised me too! I’ve got a handful of products from them with a selection of my favourite items too that make getting ready for a date night, even more, fun! So next time you’re looking for some party wear or date night outfits from SimplyBe be sure to check out their cosmetics range as it’s bigger than you think and there is a load of offers, products and limited edition products in there!
Blusher and bronzer products are one of my favourite ways to add colour to my face and give my face a bit of life! I don’t have naturally flushed cheeks and I know I’m rather pale so complexion enhancing products are totally up my street and something I’ll always reach for, for a date night.
NYX Powder Blush in Pinched is a beautiful colour. It’s the first product I’ve tried from Nyx and I’m very impressed. It’s a beautiful pink with shimmer that enhances radiance on the cheeks. I’d say this could be compared to Orgasm by Nars, the blush that was most loved back in the day. For a compact, this is beautiful little colour and compliments pale skin tones like mine perfectly. When using this with MAC Harmony blush, which although considered a blush is probably nicer as a contour colour, it’s a great match for enhancing cheek bones, or creating them, in my case!
In terms of face products, the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation is actually my second tube. I don’t remember the last time I stocked up on a drugstore foundation and this one is awesome. For date night, you’re guaranteed a lovely complexion and if it’s the first date, you’ll be sure that this suits you as a natural look. So many guy mates have said to me before that they hate seeing the obvious line of foundation so try this out to look the ‘best kind of you!’ Then top it up with a powder to avoid shine, useful if you’re in a club or somewhere hot we’re shine may prevail!
Lipstick isn’t necessarily a must but if I was to choose one it would be a dainty pink or a dark red. MAC forever provide beautiful shades of pink, in shades you never knew existed. But my advice for a date night would be to always go for a colour or lip product that is suited to you. Don’t feel like you need to wear a certain colour or lip product to have a full face if it’s not usual for you, then you’re not being yourself, and you should always be yourself!
Accessorise! My favourite part of a date night! Getting ready is often a bit of an event – music on, sitting in your dressing gown, a glass of wine and enjoying knowing you’re going to look glam! The spectrum brushes make getting ready feel so glam! The Attention Seeker set of ten pieces has every brush you could possibly need to create a flawless base, these are SO soft and I love that they’re not just black and white brushes, they’re fun and make you enjoy using them and these are vegan and cruelty-free – result! You can get these for yourself, I highly recommend them, the only brushes you need to achieve a great full makeup result [LINK]. This set is only £39 as well and for brushes, this is such a great price – perfect for a Christmas idea too, and no it’s not too early to consider it!
To finish a look I’d probably finish my look with some Carvela heels, and a mix of Jo Malone products – nothing makes leaving the house feel more glam than a whiff of a good scent!
