2017 held a lot of new beauty favourites for me. I don’t feel like I went crazy with buying lots of new products this year but the ones I invested in have treated me well and become investments. It’s of course, just like me to bring back some products that for the past few years have been staples in my collection and need a mention again!

Starting with skincare, I’ve really cracked my skin this year, we won’t talk about my horrible back-acne that just won’t go but aside from that, my facial routines have been tip top and it’s due to a few key products. Once again I’ve been keeping a stash of La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo in the bathroom cupboard, myself and Dan use this whenever we get blemishes just to get rid of the scaring and marks as soon as they appear. It works and is a classic and if this was around when I was 13, I would have loved it!

From The Ordinary, I’ve been using Salicylic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid union to get rid of hormonal breakouts and keep hydration topped up. I’ve written about the brand a few times now and it has to be one of my favourite discoveries of 2017! With this I’ve been using the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser, this is the ideal daily moisturiser for combination skin!

Now I’m sure if you’ve travelled to Europe in the last few years and you do as many of us do, browse the catalogues for beauty deals and then get sucked in, you often end up buying something you don’t need. Well, I had seen the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster on the Easyjet magazine and knew that my face never tanned when on holiday! This little bottle of sunshine is sunshine in a bottle, you add a couple of drops to your everyday moisturiser to build up a gradual fake tan. I’ve used it loads and it barely looks like it! If you don’t tan your face on holiday, you must buy this. It keeps you healthy looking all year round too!

Onto makeup and there are two foundations I’ve been using on and off throughout the year, Rimmel London Match Perfection and Benefit Big Easy Tinted Moisturiser, both are the ideal everyday bases. They’re not full coverage but I can put these on every day knowing my skin will look good and that they get on with my skin type. The Big Easy moisturiser surprised me, its got such a lovely glow and coverage despite being a tinted moisturiser so I’m pleased to keep these in my collection in 2018!

The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer needs no introduction, of course, it had to feature. I will never stop using this concealer, for £4, it’s the best concealer and you need nothing else!

For cheeks I’ve been loving the MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skinfinish, when I first got this I didn’t seem to get the look, I never looked how everyone else did with it but after working with it more this year, it is the perfect party highlighter. I rarely wear it on a daily basis but it gives you a luminous glow in a rose gold effect. It’s a classic and I’m only just getting into it, late as ever!

The Benefit Dallas blusher is something I’ve wanted to try for YEARS. I LOVE Benefit blushers and own them all in some way, the lovely Adrienne at The Sunday Girl (who has the best beauty blog in all the land) was selling this in a blog sale and I knew I had to get it. Its a gorgeous mix between a blush and bronzer and really warms up my face!

Onto eyes and I’ve had a long-term relationship with Urban Decay Naked Palette, it’s such a staple for any makeup bag and I’ve used it every day this year! I’ve got the Naked 3 for Christmas so I reckon that will make the next year’s favourites but these eyeshadows are faultless.

In terms of eyeliner, I’ve been consistently going back to Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner pen, I’ve even recommended this to my mother in law, it’s the best drugstore pen liner for everyday top lining. The brush pen is super easy to use and creates a thick or thin black line with no transfer! Plus only a few pounds so I’ll always repurchase!

Lastly on makeup, is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. I got this as part of the Influenster programme which I did wonder if it would be any good and despite the whole world and their mum receiving one, I want to honestly say this is INSANELY good. It really fills your lashes and makes them super fluttery, long, volumised and black. There’s not much more to say but this is as good as it comes across!

And one beauty but not makeup related product, a Wet Brush. I had a tangleteezer for the beginning of the year and then on my wedding day I lost it…Who knows! So I had to buy a new brush and decided to go for the Wet Brush as I’d heard Lily Pebbles talk about it. I love this brush so much, there’s no point buying cheap rubbish brushes which pull out your hair, break and don’t do any favours to your hair. Buy a wet brush and transform brushing and styling your hair. Plus this is perfect for in the shower to put a mask through the lengths of your hair!

Blimey, that’s a long post! What was your favourite product of 2017?
