Choosing a wedding venue is one of the biggest choices during the planning process. We knew we wanted to get married in Suffolk despite living in Northampton as we both grew up in the area and most of our family is there. After a couple days research we came across Alpheton Hall Barns in the middle of Suffolk and we quickly knew it was the one for us.

Alpheton barns are two of the oldest barns in the UK made of timber beams, wonky floors and quirky structures. It has been highly upgraded month on month by the fun and enthusiastic owner Nick who essentially is your main guy. Nick is the only guy you get with the venue but he knows exactly what he’s talking about and knows how to make a wedding run smoothly.

The barn comes with a west and south barn one that is for the reception and one that is available for civil ceremonies. There is a church on site if you wish to have a church ceremony but we decided we wanted a simple meaningful civil ceremony since we are not religious. The reception barn is a huge barn with space for well over 150 if not more and has also types of tables. There’s a bar already to be stocked, two plentiful high tech kitchens for caterers.

St. Patrick's Day Backdrops

The garden areas for sunny days are perfect for making drinks and photos backdrops an outside event. Lastly there is a awesome pizza oven built into the venue so you can have your evening food with something a big different! There’s so much good about the venue. The lighting to create ambience, well equipped sound systems, dance floor, great facilities for everyone! We loved if and to decorate was so easy..

We bought way too many decorations in the end as the barn itself created so much character. We added lights to the bottom and top which looked awesome and the tables had elegant orchids and petals for a gentle look as I really wanted a relaxed non garish look. I was so so happy with how it looked. Pinterest eat your heart out.
