We’re always looking to jet set off across the world but have you ever considered a good old fashioned road trip? Although it’s super easy to get yourself on a plane these days for only a few ££, a road trip could be the ultimate way to experience Europe. Kwik Fit, the UK’s leading fast-fit specialists for tyres, exhausts and car services, has created a eBook with all their top road trips across Europe!
Although a road trip could require hiring a car, there’s always the option to take a ferry across to the continent to experience the sights. The eBook has created a guide on the best sights to see which would be a shame to not hit the road on and see up close and personal.
The book has routes from the beautiful mountains in Austria which could call for a Sound of Music soundtrack, your camera and a light but powerful car. I know my C1 wouldn’t appreciate these mountains but something that can deal with steep hills would be ideal! The book has you covered for what you need to know about taking on Mountains!
Route 500 in Germany takes you through mountains, forests and is one of Germany’s oldest roads. It’s a popular route for motorbikes but beautiful in a car too! You also have the Trollstiegen roads in Norway which are nothing like the UK roads. This isn’t one for the faint hearted as there is a one lane road around the mountains but great for any driving enthusiasts!
If you’re looking for something near by then head to Ring of Kerry in Ireland. This is a impressive landscape full of forest scenery as well as beaches and fishing villages. This is more of a two day trip but great for a easy escape! There is also Route One in Iceland which could lead to seeing the Northern Lights!
Finally, if you want to make it a European holiday with a bit of sunshine, head over to Italy for it’s pitershque landscapes, beaches and Italian towns laden with gelato and pizzerias!
The e-book is one you must check out for some inspiration this summer. Leave the planes for the long haul and take in the country that you easily miss by hoping in the car.
Where would you love to visit by car? I’m still keen to check out Cornwall and Scotland in a road trip but these sound like a great idea for something more adventurous!
