My September! – What I’ve been up to!

September was a crazy month. It’s probably been one of my busiest work wise but its been a personally tough month at home. We’ve come out of it into the middle of October feeling refreshed and ready to go again but I wanted to share a snippet of my life. I used to do round up type posts of what I was up to years ago and thought this would be really interesting to look back on.

We spent the day at Silverstone for the BTCC!

The kind team at CarShop invited Dan and I down to Silverstone for the British Touring Car Championships. As they are a sponsor they were able to invite us down as a Brand Ambassador as they sponsor Aiden Moffat who drives a Laser Tools car. It was really fun to head down to the track. Despite moving to Northamptonshire years ago now, we had never been to the home of racing. It was so different to what I expected but was great to be involved. The team at Car Shop and Laser Tools provided incredible hospitality and it was a fun day out.

I got glammed up for the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce awards!

I was kindly invited down to the Northamptonshire Chamber awards as a guest on a table as part of my role as Editor of Northampton Life Magazine. It was the first time I’ve ever attended an awards do so I put my best frock on (Missguided fyi – LINK) and mingled with other businesses. It was a great evening, I loved dressing up. It was great to see so many businesses in one room and allowed me to network in a new way. Being invited made me feel really welcomed into the business community and now I have two more events lined up already in the next month so I best get used to being this glam!

We took a trip to London!

For Dan’s birthday we stayed in Clapham for the weekend where Dan’s uncle let us house sit. We got to eat, drink and enjoy a chilled weekend in London which was just what we needed after a mad week. We finally got to try our Banana Tree which I have always wanted to visit especially after always passing their Angel branch. If you’re into curry, noodles and Indonesian style food, this is for you. It was quite incredible and the range of dishes and tastes are pretty awesome.

Unlimited sushi and champagne…

So for Dan’s actual present I bought him a lunch experience at Inamo in Camden. This was a 22 item set menu of unlimited sushi style dishes with 2 bottles of champagne. I had a friend who recommended this ages ago and I thought it would be the perfect present. It is a Time Out offer so for £30 each you get all of that included which is worth well over double that for the equivalent a la carte menu. It’s not on all year round. The food was incredible and we tried our best to try nearly every dish! It was a really quirky restaurant with projections on the table, games and the champagne went down nicely too! Perfect for a date lunch, a group meal or a birthday celebration!

We’ve just got back from a trip to Rhodes!

Our friends asked us to join them on holiday to Rhodes earlier this year and we definitely didn’t want to say no to some sunshine. Although Dan was pretty unwell, a holiday was just what we needed to rest up. The sunshine, food and company helped us unwind and allowed us to just escape the craziness that life is. I will cover the whole trip on a separate post but we stayed in a town just outside of Lindos. We visited the town on one of the days which was great to get out and see the historic and tourist side. The weather was really nice although you wouldn’t believe I sat in the sun for over seven hours a day.

Home and happy.

September was actually a rubbish month personally. We’ve been dealing with a LOT! We also know we’re incredibly lucky to have the best friends and family who have helped us out recently. Isn’t it mad when you’re on holiday and you actually look forward to heading home? Not many people would admit to that but I’m definitely feeling like we’re on the up again now and I want to get stuck into life again. We’ve had a lot on hold recently and I want to work hard, earn lots of money and feel better this month.

I’ve even been getting ‘Hinched’ and have been investing heavily in cleaning products. I feel like when life went a bit weird for us in the middle of September I just froze and tried to fix the immediate problem. The house and life took a bit of a step back and we’ve been untidy and unhappy for a few weeks. I’m a firm believer that if your home is tidy, your mind will be too. So I’ve been spending the weekend working on the house. Time to get back to normal and cosy in time for Autumn! I’d love to showcase more of our interiors too so I’m hoping to get that underway this autumn.

What are you looking forward to this October and is getting you excited for Autumn?
