I truly love Autumn beauty trends. I love a rosy cheek, bold darker lip and the ability to make makeup last longer than it does in hot summer weather. Although I’ve not purchased too many new items this Autumn, I’ve been re-discovering some fantastic gems in my collection. So get snug, it’s time to dig out the best of Autumn beauty.
Benefit Gold Rush Box o Powder – £12.50 (mini) – LINK
The Gold Rush blush is one I picked up earlier from Cult Beauty and it’s taken me a little while to get into using it. Since Autumn has sprung around, this provides a beautiful flush to the cheeks especially when paired with a bronzer like Hoola. I think this is especially nice if you’re a pale gal like me to give you a natural glow. I now use this daily and love the look it provides, this could be a hot contender to my long-term favourite Dandelion.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Milan and Tokyo – £6.00 – LINK
So I may of mentioned these in my Summer Beauty Edit but I just can’t get enough of them. They provide incredible colour, long lasting lip stain and the texture is so easy to apply. These two are colours I reach for daily as they are such wearable shades. The actual colour range from NYX for these lip creams is massive. If you like nudes, pinks, reds and brown-nudes, then you’re going to love the range. I love how affordable these are too, great for all budgets.
Maybelline Hyper Precise All Day Matte Liquid Liner – £5.99 – LINK
I’m a long term Maybelline eyeliner fan. I wear eyeliner daily and generally I need it to last all day especially if I have an event in the evening or I’m driving about. Maybelline liquid liners, in either pen or brush format, last all day. The hyper precise range isn’t a range from Maybelline that I’ve seen before and so of course I had to give it a try. So far I’m quite impressed, the staying power and application is great and I find the nib is thin enough for getting the perfect precise line!
Benefit Brow Zings – £27.00 – LINK
As a hard-core HD Brow fan, I like to keep my eye brow products to a minimum. I much prefer a natural brow look with defined brows that suit my face and not just a trend. Benefit Brow Zings provides a wax and powder duo with fantastic little brush. I use the shade ‘Light’ which is perfect for my dark blonde eye brows. Generally I use the wax to define the shape after having them wax/threaded and plucked and then fill in any sparse gaps with the powder. This is the perfect little kit for any brow-novices!
Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops – £6.99 – LINK
I’ve never been much of a highlighter girl. I use Soft and Gentle and Watts Up on the rare occasion but I wasn’t sure on the disco ball effect that I’d seen going around recently. After picking up these Barry M drops, I’m starting to see the love for them. Although you’ll never catch me highlighting my nose or forehead (still don’t understand that look but each to their own) I love using this on my cheek bones, often paired with the Gold Rush Blush. These are seriously beautiful and you must swatch them in store. My only downside is the packaging gets pretty clogged up quickly but it’s worth it for the price and glow it gives! Perfect for Christmas!!
L’Occitane Neroli and Orchidee Perfume – £56.00 – LINK
If you’ve read The Beauty Type for a few years then you’ll know that when I lived in London I worked at L’Occitane on Bond Street. It truly was the perfect student job for me. I got to work around beauty products all day, smell fabulous and see the hustle and bustle of Christmas on Oxford Street. At the time I joined, this perfume was launched and I spent a lot of my working day, spraying this down the street to entice people in. The scent is one of my favourites and ever since working there I just needed it back in my life. This scent, especially at Christmas is warm, girlie but slightly musky and just beautiful for Autumn. These scents shouldn’t be underestimated.
Autumn has mean’t the darker eyeshadows have come out as well as a bit more bronzer to warm up my face. I absolutely love Autumn beauty trends as they are a bit darker, you can get away with a bit more makeup and you can really warm up your face. It also help that being colder, you’re not melting your makeup away!
