November flew by in a blink of an eye. It’s been a busy working month with some great results. I’ve been working hard on our content on the magazine I am the editor of. I had created a fireworks event post which gained as much traffic as we normally get in one month, on one post. I take a lot of pride in my job so I was really excited by this.
November also meant Dan headed back to work and our household is back to normal, which is obviously great for us both. I’m now super excited for Christmas and everything December brings. So here’s what I got up to this month, it’s always fun to go back over the month as it reminds what actually happened.
Attended the Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards.
As part of the magazine we were invited down to the Northamptonshire Food and Drink award ceremony 2018. This was hosted at the Royal and Derngate which was incredible. This was my third black tie event in two months so I was feeling very lucky to be invovled. They had completely transformed the theatre into an event room where 500 people were suited and booted for the awards do. There were some great names who won the prestigious awards along with some very worthy runner up’s. To see the full list of winners check out the list here.
I was on the radio!
BBC Northampton kindly invited me to be part of their show a few weeks ago which was a bit of a ‘pinch me’ moment. I know it’s only local radio but to be heard on a radio station that’s in your car was pretty cool. I was asked to discuss my freelance career and how I’ve developed my blog to be part of that. If you’d like to listen to my clip on the show, click here and listen at 36:30. I am keen to do more public speaking in the new year so this was the perfect way to test the waters.
We explored Bedford!
Earlier in the month we headed over to Bedford for an appointment. We hadn’t visited the town before despite it only being half an hour away and was the ideal opportunity to suss it out. So it may not have any key points to visit, we did get to check out the Quay Restaurant on Castle Street which was divine. The review is available here and I highly recommend giving it a visit if you’re local to Bedfordshire or in the area. I couldn’t resist a few selfies on the river.
A six week personal training course.
So with only a few weeks to go until Christmas I decided it was about time I got my fitness back on track. Last year I did about six months of personal training in Milton Keynes which was incredible. I was super fit, my stamina increased and I actually got muscles, which is a huge deal for me. Since coming back from our honeymoon and moving out of Northampton Town it’s been harder to get on track with working out. However, as Christmas came around, this November, and I could feel my bones creaking and now I’m back in the gym. I’ve even been doing bar bell presses which has really been exciting. Here’s to getting fit for Christmas so I can justify all the food I’ll eat.
Well that’s the highlights of November. I’m sure much more happened but it’s been such a busy month working that it’s flown by. Already this December there’s been a Northampton Bloggers event at Bell Northampton which was organised by Nicole and we’ve put up our Christmas decorations!
